What is eaten for World Chocolate Day

World Chocolate Day is kept on 7 July. It has no long history and no rules beyond eating chocolate. Shops and makers use it for tastings and offers. It is a good day to remember where chocolate comes from. Cacao was first grown and drunk in Mesoamerica, where it was a bitter, spiced drink long before it was a sweet. Most of the world's cacao is now grown in West Africa, by small farmers in Ivory Coast and Ghana.
