What is eaten for Inti Raymi

Inti Raymi is the Inca festival of the sun at the winter solstice. It is staged each 24 June in Cusco and kept by Quechua and Kichwa communities across the Andes as thanks for the harvest. Chicha de jora, beer brewed from sprouted maize, is raised to the sun and a little is poured on the ground for Pachamama before people drink. Communities share food laid out on cloths on the ground: boiled maize, potatoes, beans and roast meat. In Peru meat and tubers are also baked under hot stones as pachamanca.

The dishes

Also part of it, and being written: Mote (Boiled maize kernels at the shared meal.).
