Pescatarian
A person who eats fish and other seafood but no other meat.
Also: pescetarian
A pescatarian diet is a vegetarian diet with fish and shellfish added. Meat and poultry are left out. Most pescatarians also eat dairy products and eggs. The word joins the Italian pesce, fish, with vegetarian, and came into use in the 1990s. People choose the diet for health, for ethical reasons or as a step toward giving up meat altogether. Several traditional diets, including those of some coastal communities, come close to it.
