Chuseok
Korean harvest thanksgiving, with half-moon rice cakes steamed on pine needles.

What is eaten for Chuseok
Chuseok is the Korean harvest festival. Families travel to their home towns, visit the graves of their ancestors and set a table of new rice, fruit and other food before them. The night before, everyone sits together to shape songpyeon, small half-moon rice cakes filled with sesame, beans or chestnut, which are steamed on a bed of pine needles. The meal also has many kinds of jeon, glass noodles, braised ribs and taro soup. New rice wine is poured.
