What is eaten for World Pasta Day

World Pasta Day has been kept on 25 October since the first World Pasta Congress met in Rome in 1995. Pasta makers and restaurants use it to celebrate a food that is cheap, keeps well and can be cooked in minutes. Italy eats the most pasta per person by far, around 23 kilograms a year. The day is an excuse to cook a plate properly: plenty of salted water, pasta taken out while it still has bite, and finished in its sauce.
